President’s Message – January 2010
The annual meeting of the Taberna Homeowners Association was held on Tuesday, December 15th. Since this meeting and the annual meeting of the new Board occurred after the deadline for this issue, the results of those meetings will be in the next issue of the Tribune. My thanks to everyone who attended and sent in their ballot/proxies enabling us to have a quorum for the meeting.
So far we have received over 180 responses to the community survey. The results are being tabulated and will be published in early January 2010. The information gleaned from the survey will be valuable for the new Board in their decisions and planning for the year. Thank you for giving us your assessment of how things are going and suggestions for what needs to be done.
Piedmont Gas is currently performing a study of what is required and the extent to which they can bring natural gas into our community. This will also address related costs for homeowners to convert their systems. At the end of the day, this is a business decision for them which is dependent on whether there are enough interested people to justify their costs. Some street areas may not get coverage if there is not enough interest. They indicated they will be mailing survey cards to homeowners by early January and hope to have all the information to make a decision early in 2010. The point of contact for this study is Dan Voliva, 617-5917, email John.Voliva@piedmontng.com.
I want to thank all of the members of the Board, the association committees, and others who volunteered their time in service to our community this year. I have enjoyed serving as your President and I ask for your support of our new Board in 2010.
The new Board will advise you of the schedule and time for the monthly Board meetings in 2010. These meetings are held at the HOA office, located at 3950 US Highway East (Route 70 and Thurman Road). If you need directions to the office, contact one of the Board Members.
On behalf of the Board, I extend to you and your families our wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and safe new year.
