President’s Message – March
By Bob Costanzo, President
Taberna Homeowners Association
So far this year we have not had any significant issues that have impacted our community. All of the committees have met and remained focused on enhancing our community.
Although the housing market is not as robust as it was a few years ago, we continue to welcome new homeowners in Taberna. I would recommend that they review the Homeowners Covenants, By-Laws and Rules and contact any of the Board members should they have any questions. Last year we contacted a number of residents concerning propane tanks. These tanks are to be screened so that they cannot be seen from the street or from the golf course. If you have recently added a propane tank at your home, your compliance with this guideline is appreciated.
With spring approaching, many residents will be working in their yards and placing cuttings from trees and bushes at the curb for pickup by the city on Tuesday mornings. We also have the option to dispense of these items at the Craven County recycling facility, located on Old Cherry Point Road just south of Thurman Road.
The issue of zoning in Craven County is one that is important to all. I feel that the current lack of any significant zoning has the potential to negatively impact us and encourage you to support stronger regulations. Upon hearing of any changes to the traffic light issue on Taberna Way, we will share that information via a e-mail on Tab Mail and placing the information on the Taberna HOA website.
This year the Board of Directors will hold its monthly meetings at 5:30 PM, on the third Tuesday of each month at the HOA office. Our office is located at 3950 US Highway East (Route 70 and Thurman Road). For directions to the office, please call myself or one of the Board members. Any Taberna homeowner is welcome to attend.
