President’s Message – August 2007

Taberna Homeowners Association

 

 With summer upon us, just a reminder that our Association maintains several areas for your recreational pleasure. These include Todd Denson Park and the walking path through the woodlands, which can be entered off Emmen Road, and the canoes at Brice’s Creek. Please read the article in this issue of the Tribune concerning the use of the canoes by Taberna residents.

 

In an effort to improve access to the Todd Dension Park from Taberna Circle, the Buildings & Grounds Committee recommended paving the parking lot. I’m pleased to report that this project was completed a few weeks ago.

 

Recently there has been an increase in vandalism to Taberna signs in our park areas. If you see any vandalism occurring on your Homeowners Association Property, please contact the New Bern Police Department and the Crime Watch Captain for your area.

 

You may have noticed that there is activity at the Taberna Townes site. By the time this issue of the Tribune is printed, the construction of the first four-unit town home may be underway. Landscaping at that site, to be done by the builder, will begin later this year.

 

Speeding in Taberna continues to be a safety concern. We have contacted the Taberna Police Department and have requested that they increase police presence to enforce the speed limits in our community.

 

Our thanks to all who have used the Taberna HOA Website tabernahoa.org to either look up information or use the e-mail feature to ask questions. We are pleased to have this site available to you. Copies of the Board’s minutes are included there, along with the names of all the HOA committee and Board members. If you are interested in volunteering to serve your Taberna community, we would like to hear from you.

 

The THOA Board of Directors holds its regular meetings at 3950 US Highway 70 East (Route 70 and Thurman Road) each month. The next meeting is on Thursday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. If you have a question, concern or suggestion regarding our community, please contact one of your Board members.
