President’s Message – March 2009
At our last Board meeting we established a list of open items carried over from 2008 and determined the major priorities that needed to be addressed in 2009. These include the bidding and award of new maintenance and landscaping contract and the completion of the Beautification Project. We will make every effort to keep you informed on the progress of our efforts throughout the year. We welcome your inputs on any area that you may have questions or concerns.
One area we have requested assistance from the City is options for deterring the off-road U-turns near the intersection of Geneva and Taberna Way that result in ugly tire tracks and mud pits as you enter our community. Please let us know if you see someone making a muddy mess, such as recently occurred, that we must pay to clean up and repair.
Thanks to Alva Windham who is continuing as webmaster for the HOA website. He is currently gathering information for an update that will enhance our website with new links and community information. Please forward to him any pictures you have of our beautiful community that could be used in this upgrade of our site. Also, if there is other information or improvements that you would like to see on the site please forward your ideas to him to be considered by the HOA Board for approval.
We are constantly reading about the many volunteers throughout Taberna who generously support numerous charitable organizations and events throughout the year. The residents of Taberna can always be counted on to step forward and assist those in the community who are less fortunate. Thank you for being such caring neighbors.
The nice winter weather that we are enjoying affords us a good opportunity to get outside and take stock of the tasks ahead for spring clean up. For those that aren’t inclined to do it yourself, we have many fine handymen and contractors in the area who will get your house and yard in tip top shape. Tab Mail is a great source for finding the right person to do your job or to get rid of your unneeded items.
By now most have paid their HOA and Sub-Association dues for 2009 and for that we thank you. For those who have not paid I request that you do that now to avoid late fees. Our ability to pay association bills to keep Taberna a first class neighborhood depends upon all of us paying in a timely manner. Those that don’t pay create a burden on our friends and neighbors who see their dues go up to cover the deficits and added costs to track and collect delinquencies.
The monthly Board meetings will be held at the HOA office at 5:30 PM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be March 11th. The office is located at 3950 US Highway East (Route 70 and Thurman Road). If you need directions to the office, call one of the Board Members or myself.
