President’s Message – December 2009

 

 

The annual meeting of the Taberna Homeowners Association will be held on Tuesday December 15th, 7:00 PM, at Creekside Elementary School.  By now everyone should have received their annual meeting materials.  If you have not received these materials or misplaced them, please contact me to get a copy.   We request that you return the ballot/proxy and survey NLT December 1, 2009.  Return of the ballot/proxy is important, especially if you will be unable to attend the meeting, as we need your vote to ensure that we establish a quorum to conduct business and elect new members of the Board.

 

The Board purchased and installed fire proof file cabinets to protect the architectural control files that we must maintain and which cannot be easily replicated.  Also, the Board approved landscaping improvements for two wrought iron fences to be accomplished before the end of the year.

 

We recently experienced more car break-ins in Taberna.  New Bern police reported that most of the incidents that recently occurred in the area involved vehicles that were left unlocked.  Please take the advice of the New Bern police and avoid becoming an easy target by removing valuable items from your car and always lock the vehicles when you leave them unattended.

 

The monthly Board meetings will be held at the HOA office at 5:30 PM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.  The next meeting will be December 9th.  The office is located at 3950 US Highway East (Route 70 and Thurman Road).  If you need directions to the office, call one of the Board Members or myself.
