President’s Message – December
By Bob Costanzo, President
Taberna Homeowners Association
By now you should have received notification of the Taberna Homeowners Association Annual Meeting, which will be held Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m. at Orringer Hall on the campus of Craven County Community College in New Bern. A copy of the notice can be found on the Taberna Website tabernahoa.org.
If you do not plan to attend the Annual Meeting, we ask that you complete the Ballot / Proxy form and return it to the HOA at the address shown on the form.
The Buildings and Grounds Committee, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, reviewed various options for the first major Beautification Project, which was announced last year. The decision was made to significantly enhance the median across from the Taberna Townes development on Taberna Way. In conjunction with that decision we decided to remove the Welcome to Taberna sign located on Taberna Way, just prior to Geneva/Taberna Circle intersection. This will allow for improved visibility for drivers as they approached the stop sign at that intersection. A new sign will be located on the re-designed median area, mentioned above.
As part of the effort to enhance the common areas in Taberna, we will continue to evaluate the areas where a change in the landscaping would be beneficial.
After receiving bids for the landscaping contracts and recommendations from the Buildings and Grounds Committee and Finance Committee, the Board of Directors approved a modest, five-dollar annual increase in the Master Homeowners Association dues for 2008.
I would like to thank all of the members of the Board and Committees for their time and efforts this past year.
